[just thought of something over the weekend: GRACELAND by Paul Simon? or do you think BEAT ON THE BRAT is the song that best captures our graceland trip?]
BET SHE'S NOT YOUR GIRLFRIEND: [YES!]
MY LOVIN' vs. YOU GOTTA BE: the thing about MY LOVIN' is that jennie abbott included it on that pro-choice mix she made...we need to have a listen together, maybe...
Etheridge/Raitt...convince me:[they represent that whole LBA dance tense vibe.]
the Depeche Mode song is "Never Let Me Down Again" from Music for the Masses. [do we need depeche mode?]
i really like the Notables' CORNFLAKE GIRL. and i suppose we should represent both them and Tori. they were both so ubiquitous! [yes, and I think it's good to kill two birds with this one stone...]
Public Enemy...like Madonna and Prince, it just didn't make it on. (and fucking "Shake the Disease" by DM did?) i'm inclined not to add artists that aren't there to begin with. what do you think? [yes, i agree with that. we will have more artistic freedom on the vanderbilt mix.]

BEAT ON THE BRAT: i was thinking that this one not only represents Graceland, but the recent loss of Joey and Dee Dee. ah, full circle...
MY LOVIN': my god! that pro-choice tape! i have NO idea where mine is...fuck. i'm glad you still have yours.
LBA dances: word. my vote, then, is for Etheridge's fabulous MAGGIE MAY cover.
CORNFLAKE GIRL yes, DM no.
